LaTale is a two-dimensional, side-scrolling MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) in which players take the role of adventurers in a mythological fantasy world. It was initially launched in South Korea in February 2006. In March 2008, a game publisher named OGPlanet signed a contract with Actoz Soft Co. Ltd, to bring LaTale to a wider audience. Other localized versions of LaTale are available in Chinese and Japanese.
The official English LaTale website can be found at OGPlanet. Localized versions of LaTale, such as Korean, Japanese, and Chinese, have their own websites too.
Currently, LaTale only disallows players from China, Korean and Japan from playing.
Currently, LaTale only works on Windows 98, 2000, XP, and Vista computers. Whether or not other operating systems will be supported in the future is unknown.
Please see the system requirements that are listed on OGPlanet's website.
The open beta period of LaTale is expected to be released August 21, and will remain open until September 3.
The official release of LaTale is expected to arrive September 18, 2008.
Open and closed beta are both releases in which players are asked to test the game for any problems or bugs. However, closed beta is only available to a select few individuals (in the case of English LaTale — 5,000), while open beta has no such restrictions. The official release is the version succeeding both phases, and, like open beta, does not have a limit to the amount of players.
Balance Factor is part of a formula that determines how much damage is dealt to every enemy when using a multiple-target attack. Take a look at the following equation.
damage to one enemy × balance factor ÷ number of enemies = amount of damage dealt to every monster individually
So, for example, let's say that, by using a skill, you would deal 1,000 damage to a single enemy. Let's also say that there are three enemies, and the balance factor for your skill is 2.0. How much damage would each monster receive? Use the equation above.
1000 × 2.0 ÷ 3 = 666.67
Each monster will be dealt about 666 damage, or 667 damage when rounded.
Passive skills refer to a type of skills that have automatic effects. As long as there are points in a passive skill, its effects remain forever. Active skills have temporary effects. They must be explicitly used before any effects can take place.
The amount of targets refers to the number of enemies a skill can affect simultaneously. For example, the skill named Dancing Dagger has an "Amount of Targets" value of 2, which indicates that this skill can attack two enemies with a single attack.
Unfortunately, yes.
